Enough. Boycott Israel.

Is it time we organized a broad campaign to boycott, divest and sanction Israel?

In a recent editorial in the Guardian UK, Naomi Klein called for a widespread Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions campaign against Israel. She wrote that, "It's time. Long past time. The best strategy to end the increasingly bloody occupation is for Israel to become the target of the kind of global movement that put an end to apartheid in South Africa... Every day that Israel pounds Gaza brings more converts to the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions cause - even among Israeli Jews. In the midst of the assault roughly 500 Israelis, dozens of them well-known artists and scholars, sent a letter to foreign ambassadors in Israel. It calls for "the adoption of immediate restrictive measures and sanctions" and draws a clear parallel with the anti-apartheid struggle. 'The boycott on South Africa was effective, but Israel is handled with kid gloves ... This international backing must stop.'"

Naomi Klein's assessment resonates with many people who are terribly upset by the injustice they see happening in Gaza. Now is the time that we should collectively act to simultaneously reject consumerism and the war in Gaza. Getting involved is easy:

First, visit the Boycott Israeli Goods website and begin actively refusing to buy any product made in Israel. You can also download a comprehensive guide of Israeli products.

And, if you have a website, you can promote this campaign by adding a small "Boycott Israel" banner to the top left of your website. To do so, put the following code anywhere on your webpage. For an example of how this looks, visit why-war.com

Do you think a boycott of Israel can end the occupation of Palestine? How can we spread this Boycott campaign more widely?

Update: The following websites have joined the Boycott Israel campaign. We will keep updating this list as more sites join!

What to do with someone, who takes The Protocols of the Elders of Zion serious? "Why in fact should one tell the truth? What obliges us to do it? And why do we consider telling the truth to be a virtue? Imagine that you meet a madman, who claims that he is a fish and that we are all fish. Are you going to argue with him? Are you going to undress in front of him and show him that you don't have fins? Are you going to say to his face what you think?...If you told him the whole truth and nothing but the truth, only what you thought, you would enter into a serious conversation with a madman and you yourself would become mad. And it is the same way with the world that surrounds us. If I obstinately told the truth to its face, it would mean that I was taking it seriously. And to take seriously something so unserious means to lose all one's own seriousness. I have to lie, if I don't want to take madmen seriously and become a madman myself."

Israeli extremists are panicking now as the boycott gains steam worldwide. There is nothing these evil, bribing, blackmailing Zionists can do to force ordinary people to buy products from companies who support Israeli terrorism. They know it, and thats why they are getting so agitated by the campaign. If, as they falsely claim, the boycott campaign is "flimsy" and having "no effect" why dont they ignore it? Why are they franticaly posting on forums, writing articles in the press and attempting to find false legislative solutions to bypass the boycott? The governments of the USA and the EU are controlled by evil zionists, so they will not bring the pariah state of Israel into line. Ordinary people can, through the mass economic power of a boycott. Money talks.

neither side is wrong nor right. The lack of communication and noone would step back and to agree in something to make all these things work. People are too mad to cool down their mind to consider of not killing any innocent, but just thinking of how to win the other side.

First of all, thank you to all the rabidly intolerant postings by the pro-israelis here. Your exemplary use or rhetoric and spewing of hatred shows why you do not deserve the country you have stolen our your 'special victim' status. You people really reveal the depths to which you have collectively sunk. You are digging your own graves and complain that America has not given you more spades and that the world will not help you more. You deserve no more than our contempt, you genocidal apologists who spit on the memory of all those who died in the Shoah. Grow up and treat other people as well as yourselves with a little dignity. Regarding boycott, I have found products labelled as Israeli with other barcodes, most notably 355. This is because work has been done in Sweden to trace the REAL origin of the product, not where it was repacked to avoid sanctions (Israelis have been worried about and trying to get round the boycott for a while now). There are also many products (including dates marketed to the Islamic community in the UK) that are produced by the settler assholes on their stolen land using their stolen water. These are not labelled 'origin Israel' at all, or by bar code - but often say 'Product of the West Bank' or 'Product of Jordan'. I have not yet got my local supermarket chain to stop selling Israeli blood-products but I will continue to try.
