Welcome to this Revolutionary Moment

Let's all become whistle blowers!

Suddenly we're at a pivotal moment. Wikileaks is exposing the corruption among the global power elites on a level never seen before. They realize that this is an existential threat to them and are starting to apply the full weight of the CIA, Espionage Act, etc., to nip this thing in the bud. Don’t let them get away with it! An opportunity like this comes once in a lifetime. So let’s seize it! Let’s all become whistle blowers, let's all start talking truth to power and, over the next few months, change forever the way the world does business.

For a good primer on what’s at stake, watch this video:

Mmmm!

as much as i dont want you to be right about this, all of this.. i think that you are.
could wikileaks, or, THIS particular wikileaks affair, really change the populace's mindset? not without the media.

(maybe there's more to it than the media, but still, it's probably the biggest factor...)

NOT Anyonmyous ...

Placing import in the repute and the words of whistleblowers is one thing we can do to "change the populace's mindset." I'm assuming that the mindset you are referring to sounds something like "...that's just the way it is" - and I find it more saddening than ironic that you would qutoe such nihilistic sentiment. Further, it is never unimportant what a diplomat thinks. It is their attitudes and behaviors which make and break the ties that prevent wars.

I'm sick and tired of this argument that nothing of "true import" has been exposed. From the War Logs we were able to see government approved evidence that there are serious flaws with the American military's rules of engagement. The media is also not ignoring these things- The NY Times, The Guardian, El Pais and Der Spiegel have all passed on the redacted information since they obtained it from WikiLeaks.

Please, do us all a favor and tell us exactly what tangible steps we should be taking to "change the populace's mindset" - and tell me why the work of WikiLeaks and other whistleblowers is not one effective tool for doing so.

The media isn't ignoring anything, they are being directed what to publish/not to publish. Haven't you figured out yet that the mainstream media is nothing more than an arm of the ruling elite class? The media doesn't "think it is unimportant". They have no choice in the matter. This is what it has come to.
