Let's have a Halloween party!

Tactical Briefing #39.

This article is available in:

Alright occupiers, trick or treat,

Let’s all go to Washington, DC, and have a Halloween night party!

Let’s celebrate the wonderful Coke/Pepsi presidential election now in progress … and the honest, feisty way our elected reps in Congress have conducted our nation’s business … pay tribute to the bold visions they’ve put forward.

At dusk on October 31, let’s gather on Capitol Hill, trick or treat Congress and party like we’ve never partied before.

Bring mask!

PS And if you cannot make it to DC then party in front of the Bank of America in your community... outside your city hall... or in the squares.

Please, please, PLEASE stop calling for actions that you have no intention on doing any work for in cities that you do not live in. It's really annoying when REAL activists who do REAL work have to put up with planning these idiotic convergences with a month's notice because Adbusters says so. We will not be planning anything around this stupid call to action. Let everyone know that they are not welcomed to come trash our city for your stupid publicity stunts.

We had many people feel that way when @adbusters called for #OCCUPYCHICAGO. People with #OChi felt slighted & because of that we missed a good opportunity to seize the moment and get more people to show up! In the end, why should they ask? Our Ego's?

It's up to us to take sparks that other groups, be it adbusters or the people of #spain or #greece, provide us & run w/ them

Yo no fuck that shit. One, most the Chicago folks I know were wicked pissed because of that and because of that NATO actions were planned very poorly. Stop telling these people to come to DC. We do not have time or resources to commit to this shit right now. "DC is a colonized territory. DC has no voting representation in Congress, yet must ask permission of this supremely corrupted body to pass new local laws and budgets. Over the decades, the city has
been powerless to stop congressmen from imposing
local laws deregulating gun control and gutting social programs. A city with more homeless people than
several states, DC features the wealthiest suburbs
and most rapidly gentrifying neighborhoods in the entire country. Yet the disenfranchisement of DC citizens
is not limited to the federal government. Activists of all
stripes travel here to stage their own protests. Rarely,
if ever, do they coordinate with Washingtonians. Many
see DC simply as the seat of federal government - a
mentality that perpetuates our disenfranchisement. "

If yall are going to do anything, do something revolving that. Like we have to deal with organizing constantly around people who just want to come to DC and use it as their playground without a care in the world for the people who live here. All they want to do is go to the white house and yell at a building. Fact Check: He can't hear you. Not to mention Congress is not even going to be there. Its a big joke. If yall want to come to DC and storm the Wilson Building demanding that they finally stop their "ethnic cleansing" and start using resources to help our cities homeless, by all means come on over. Otherwise fuck off.
