Suppressing Nonviolent Dissent

An anthology of police brutality at encampments across America.

Veterans assaulted with truncheons, women dragged through the streets by their hair, grandmothers pepper sprayed in the face, peaceful protestors bludgeoned while sitting. Sound like something authorities in Egypt, Tunisia or Syria would order and condone? Think again. It's happening here in the US.

You people are all noise and fury but are really accomplishing nothing. I'm sorry to say it but it is true. Do you know what the average American thinks? They think you are just making trouble and they are mostly right. The drugs, rapes, profanity, threats of violence, anti-semitism, women's safety tents, etc really are not the way to win over the public. Youtube is full of videos that put a very, very ugly face on the occupy movement, and millions have seen them.

You can fantasize about a robin hood tax, the end of capitalism, banking, etc until you are blue in the face but it's not gonna happen. You look and sound like the fringe left that you are.

Even adbusters is selling a product and you are buying/consuming it. They are in the magazine business folks. That is how the economy works.

I have to say I am sympathetic to your plight but the anti-semitism is incredibly off putting. You lost my support then and there.

And you sound hopeless. We need change. Our current system is dysfunctional and to accept that and move on would be immoral. It is not wrong to demand a government that reflects the will of the people- it is our RIGHT, and it is a right that we must fight for. http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/374607_123283264449708_100003041066855_126644_1963473197_n.jpg

Accomplishments so far:
1) We have taken over the national dialogue.
2) We shut down the anti-union law in Ohio
3) Several cities have had referendum on whether corporations should be considered people, which went against corporations each time by a landslide
4) The movement has 54% approval ratings in the polls. Congress has 9%.
5) The big banks decided not to impose a fee on debit card holders.

And that is just two months into this. It will last for years, and there will be more, bigger changes to come.

(Supposed) Accomplishments so far:

1) We have taken over the national dialogue.

Wrong. The "national dialog" regarding OWS is whether they are naive children or dangerous radicals. Either way, most people seem to agree that you're morons who should just go home.

2) We shut down the anti-union law in Ohio

Wrong. The unions did that.

3) Several cities have had referendum on whether corporations should be considered people, which went against corporations each time by a landslide

Correct. However, these referendums all preceded OWS entering the "national dialog."

4) The movement has 54% approval ratings in the polls. Congress has 9%.

Wrong. The latest polls should approval in the 20 - 30% range and the Tea Party is now more popular (according to PPP, a major left-leaning polling institute).

5) The big banks decided not to impose a fee on debit card holders.

Correct. However, this was the result of angry customers, particularly against Bank of America. It was a bad PR move and BoA learned their lesson. It had absolutely NOTHING to do with OWS.

And that is just two months into this. It will last for years, and there will be more, bigger changes to come.

In fact, OWS has accomplished nothing but wasting taxpayers' money on police and sanitation workers to clean up after you assholes.

Nice job. Morons.
