Sure, you can take from the rich, but what makes you think that money is going to go to the poor? Whose job is it to make sure the poor reap the benefits of the money taken from the rich? The government? Let's face it: If we leave it up to the government, the poor will never see a dime. But, there'll be plenty of fast new war planes and far more destructive bombs coming down the road.

Is this OWS's goal? More bombs and more planes to drop them? If not, tell me how the money confiscated from the rich will make it's way to the poor?

sure most current government probably would just buy more bombs but ideally they would reinvest this money in small businesses and welfare benefits for those who actually need them. as opposed to wall st or whoever else investing in big business and cheap sweatshop labour abroad conveniently out of sight. And the great thing about a government is, other than paying the government enough to live off of its a not for profit organization. on paper it works fantastically. unfortunately humans are greedy arrogant bastards.

And are private companies any better? It baffles me that people appear to be incapable of seeing past the simplistic this-or-that, black-and-white dichotomy. Who produces the machines of war? Private companies. And who clears the path for their profits? The government. They have been so long in bed together that it is difficult to see where one ends and the other begins. America has always been an idealistic nation, and as faulty as it was in execution, was founded on the notion that the government represents its citizens. The reality that we find ourselves in is that the government has become a business. They have no interest in you or me, and it is obvious. What is the difference between Republicans and Democrats? If you really think that they stand opposite on the political spectrum you are delusional.

I won't speak for anyone else, but I oppose the centralization of power in all quarters and all sectors: economic, political, religious, cultural. Concentrate power/wealth in any one place and tyranny will result.

Is the computer you typed your comment on owned by an "equalitarian" company? I can tell you're a woman. Stop voting in elections, please. You are an unconscious, pathetic mess. Stop using all the resources that tax payers paid and which you contributed very little to! Go ahead and vote for Obama again. The greatest social experiment this country ever undertook will end this time next year!

Yes, know where your goods come from! Buy as local as you can, support local craftsmen if possible. You gotta start somewhere, and you will make a difference!

Try to find a grocer that supports local and fair trade food... buy used goods when you can. Learn to make things you could use!

Blessings
