I fail to see how this video is meant to change my mind about the Taliban. This is an organization that when in power refuses to grant women any rights and oppresses all members of their society on a daily basis. Furthermore, when nations like the U.S. and England step in to try and bring them into a modern era with peace and democracy (as opposed to living in what seems like prehistoric times based on their world views), they kill the troops. Yes, members of the Taliban are human beings, but am I to remain blind to their crimes? Is the fact that they joke around just prior to killing people supposed to bring me warm fuzzies? I support the troops in Afghanistan. The sooner we take down the Taliban, the better.

Since when should nations "like the U.S. and the UK" be stepping in any country to try and "bring them into the modern era". This is elitism and arrogance of the same degree as the rampant Europeon imperialism that caused the virtual extinction of indigenous cultures in North America. Further they are not using peace and democracy in any regard in Afghanistan, correct me if I am wrong, but the last time I checked, they were using machine guns and rocket launchers.

-Your mind is already made up; don't pretend it's not; don't pretend any video has the chance to change it.

-Re: Women: See the United states until c. 1960s or so; additionally, see current statistics regarding pay-rate discrepancies between men and women; also, visit the South sometime.

-You don't impose democracy. The US founded its democracy after it fought for it. Every Western nation that has democracy fought for it. The nations made their decision to fight for democracy and won it. If the rest of the world wants democracy, they can follow that example. If you believe the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are for spreading democracy, then your mind is made up.

Yes, members of the Taliban are human beings, but am I to remain blind to their crimes?

-As opposed to the utter innocence of the US military, government, people?

Is the fact that they joke around just prior to killing people supposed to bring me warm fuzzies?

-Lynndie England, Charles Graner, Abu Ghraib, Guantanamo Bay, videos of US soldiers doing the very things you just mentioned, video of a US soldier throwing a puppy over a cliff

I support the troops in Afghanistan. The sooner we take down the Taliban, the better.

-You type propagandistic bumper-sticker cliches. The sooner you learn to think for yourself the better.
