We can expect to have political/economic sway when hundreds of thousands of people get behind a political party/figure head... If that many people want to play that game...we should consider exactly how much it compromises, of what, and why it does so. Otherwise, we use guerrilla tactics, organizing tactics...like now. However, we should put forth a plan, with a budget, strategy, time line. A big part of it could be to create sustainable communities/small holdings/autonomous zones/eco-villages/tent cities/festival occupations, call it whatever we want or all of the above. We would need to take the land, or rent it, or buy it. We create our own energy, housing styles, governance styles, we grow our own food, preserve it, we trade how we want to, we would embody so many solutions to the problems we see around us. This is practical, very, very difficult, and could be funded by any number of sympathetic millionaires (think radical Hollywood, musicians, visual artists). There could be 5-10-20 of these around the US alone. They could be organized for Spring 2012. We would need initial, decentralized leadership so funders could see the budgets and time lines and leader's credentials. This would be revolutionary action, and could serve as a foundation to build the movement from. This would avoid theoretical quibbling, and would be taking control of our lives, holistically inclusive. And I think they could be very near urban centers, not in the wilderness. People could easily retain access to the resources and culture of the city. I'm sure lots of people are thinking and talking about this, we just need to sketch it out and get it funded! AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Critique this and support it!

YES YES YES YES YESSSSSSSS! This is exactly what we need. Why is this not one of the prominent conversations among protesters? all the other potential demands are great but only chip away at the problem. AND WE CAN'T AFFORD TO CHIP AWAY... We need big solutions. As far as more ideas i think getting the GEN (Global Ecovillage Network) involved would be great, they could probably help with modeling the communities and funding and such, and plus they are already connected with thousands of ecovillages all over the world. KEEP THIS CONVERSATION GOING!

Hell!!!! So this started in NYC???? I didn't Know. Probably I dreamed with something happens in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia... and in Cairo, even before. Damm it! The "gringo's" ideal is already deep into North America society. We should start to change this as well.
