I wouldnt necessarily say that they "train" kids to kill people, and I wouldnt blame it all on video games either, but our culture is definitely overly-saturated in violence. TV, movies, video games: they all desensitize our people (not just children) to killing and violence. The problem with this is when they hear about mass killings and a sky-high death toll in war, they are not shocked and appalled by it. They see it as a part of everyday life when killing and violence should actually be frowned upon even in the smallest instance. I think the way he worded it was just a simplification, rather than have it end my paragraph-long explanation.

But hey, violence is in our nature. We're just taming that murderous impulse ingrained into our DNA by killing digital images instead of real people/animals. I'd let my kids blast away at anything and everything on a computer screen as long as they weren't taking to the streets shooting cats with BB guns. Kids/young adults/my demographic like to kill things, we've been that way for centuries and will go on being so for centuries longer. We've just evolved from watching live gladiatorial combat to Call of Duty/World of Warcraft/insert hugely successful gaming franchise here.

P.S Love the Love Police (if you guys want to come do Happy Carriage on the London tube, I'd be your escort in a flash) I just think you're a bit skewed on your views about video games.

P.P.S Hope I haven't broken any rules/pissed anyone off by posting a blogspot blog (I can never remember which multinational you're supposed to be angry at on this website and such is the reason I rarely visit) as part of my name, I just wanted somewhere where people could have a go at me/agree with me if they wanted, rather than remain anonymous and protected.
