If Jewel had ever stood for something I felt was important, then I might consider calling her a sell out, but as I never had any respect for her in the first place this seems over the top and completely unsurprising.

Careful, ADBUSTERS: I have a lot of respect for your publication but don't give me (or anyone else) reason to lose respect for you. Just because we don't support (or like, or even shop at) WalMart, please don't sensationalize this in order to draw attention to it.

That just makes us knee-jerk radicals instead of thoughtful consumers.

Hear hear. This song was never for public consumption, she's clearly playing a private show for Walmart employees in this video, a one-off. Give us all a break.

Bill Hicks could easily have gotten a good five minute chunk out of this nightmare. RIP to Bill Hicks and the last shred of Jewel's integrity.
