Total Incarceration
In American prisons scattered across the various countries of the world, but outside the United States, prisoners are regularly raped, hung from hooks, subjected to waterboarding, burned, attached to electrodes, deprived of food, water or medicine, attacked by dogs, or beaten until their bones are broken. When on American military bases or on American territory, they are subjected to sensory deprivation or other systematic mistreatment of the senses. A hat is put on them to stop them from hearing anything, a hood to stop them seeing anything, surgical masks to prevent them being able to smell, thick gloves to neutralize their sense of touch. Or they have “white noise” inflicted on them, or else violent noise and total silence alternate at irregular intervals. They are prevented from sleeping, either by having a strong electric light kept on day and night, or by subjecting them to interrogation that can last for up to 24 hours at a time, for 48 days in succession. Or they are forced to pass from extreme cold to extreme heat, and vice versa. None of these techniques, it is alleged, cause the “deterioration of bodily functions” that would constitute torture.

Caveat Redemptor
Vague & incomplete. This entry belongs on Twitlonger. The only difference is someone actually got paid to write it.
For real journalism on prisons you have to find Ashley Fantz of CNN. She wrote some dense articles complete with actual journalism and research for Salon : http://www.salon.com/2001/01/23/memphis_2/ . You can find her now at http://news.blogs.cnn.com/tag/cnns-ashley-fantz/ .

It is also worth noting that Slavery is formally condoned by the 13th Amendment, but only in the Prison setting.

Do you know how many Concentration Camps are being set up in United States Of Israel? Their total capacity is now in tens of millions. America is already a police state, it will soon be a prison state like Palestine. This information is not secret. Just search the internet.

Israel is a client state of America, it does not control America as the tail-wags-the-dog story goes. Look further and think deeper.

Hey People, I have read every Adbusters for the last 6 years and follow every online post.. the standard of the comments on here are the worse I have ever seen on this website.
We shouldn't let this site become just another forum for mindless ranting, there is plenty of room for that on other sites.
Before you post please take the time to remove any insulting or derogatory language from your posts - attacking another person, or mocking and criticising a whole country do not make the most intelligent of posts or interesting reading.
I am Australian and am lucky enough to have travelled throughout the developing world and to the US. Many governments around the world are corrupt and many governments / media bodies feed their population ignorance and disinformation to keep them in check.
The US is not alone in this rather I would say it is a world wide norm rather than an exception.
It isn't the US (as a country) that is the problem, let us get our targets right.
It is elite interests manipulating governments and corporate interests inside and outside the US and the people that are happy to sell out their countrymen (and others) for advantage. This is a minority of people and does not represent the wishes of the population as a whole.
I feel I should encourage you to make a visit (if you are able) to the War Museum in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
When I went their it touched my heart that the Vietnamese people were so strong in defence of their country and so gracious and wise in their victory.
In the museum you will see details (and captured weaponry) that show the might and evil that can be unleashed by the worlds largest war machine. You will see how much the Vietnamese people came to suffer and how they still feel the effects of the war to this day and you will feel their justified anger at the horrors of war inflicted upon them.
BUT you will also see wonderful displays of newspaper articles and photos that document the resistance to the war that took place on US domestic soil by US citizens, politicians, ex service personnel and journalists and similar such goings on amongst US allies.
And finally if you take a moment to pause on the steps of the museum as you leave the building you will see US tourists and Vietnamese locals and people from all over the world sharing tears and hugs as they recall the evil that man can do but feel at the same time the potential for beauty that exists in our lives.
We should all be like the curators of the Vietnamese War Museum, see things as they really are and direct the blame to where it should be, NOT the US as a country or its citizens but to those who are pulling their strings (as the strings are also pulled in our own countries).
Our challenge as dissidents is to come together and work in our communities to teach people that change IS possible and change IS desirable. Attacking people and or whole communities does not help.

Yes completely agree. And as we focus on the people pulling the strings, let's remember that too often that becomes conflated with "The Jews", as you'll see in the post below "The United States of Israel." Those pulling the strings are the corporate interests, and the fearful. Jews are people too.
