The problem is not money iotself, it is the bloodsucking moneylenders who take away most of our money through usury.
Tax the rich to...
Really what the rich are on about with not wanting to be taxed and acting so entitled is not their money or their wealth but their power and their lust to increase it.
We need to tax them to reduce their political power. We need to reduce the power that they have over other people through their concentrations of money because that is unjust power which is damaging other people's lives and futures.
So power obsessed have they become that so much of what the rich are demanding is the more efficient conversion of money (fungible coercive demand in itself) to raw power. If money is demand they want to convert it to command. Money is a claim on pent up or manifest resource.
What I like about this approach is it takes a approach equated with Nozick and bends it into a Rawlsian pretzel. It completes the circuit. It terms of pure autonomy it limits the autonomy claims of the rich. It's also a tight reversal of nasty utilitarian schemes so popular with this crowd because the means are as good as the ends.
Money as speech and corporations as people are designed to give the current crop or in place class of rich (its a defective crop) not just economically coercive power of a not so direct form but absolute raw power. Its time to pull the plug on this and leave the worse off for trying.
