To Live Without Dead Time
This article is available in:
To live without dead time means to embody a great refusal, to find pleasure in struggle, to transform every moment of existence into a repudiation of the consumerist nightmare and an affirmation of revolutionary possibility. A semester, a year, a decade without Big Macs, Frappucinos and World of Warcraft but overflowing with midnight adventures of blackspotted billboards, guerrilla gardening and spectacular synchronized global memewar actions. Imagine if a huge number of us start living in this way, turning daily life itself into a form of resistance that re-enchants the city and reawakens the promise of a people’s insurrection. The way forward is through this kind of radical play.

Who will pay the legal fees of the occupiers? Who will no doubt be goaded into conflict by NYPD plants, as well as by violent thug rando's who show up to vent anger?

What is to become of the Earth?
Over 4 billion years old.
According to people that believe in science.
Earth is a ring-side witness to eternity.
Not too close.
Not too far.
Just the right distance.
From the light-source, our true god.
A life-boat amid infinity.
With an infinitesimal thin life-zone.
Womb creator of the life-force.
The universe’s awakening points.
With immense power and reach.
Understanding time, becoming time.
Becoming one with the Big Bang itself.
Connecting with the OM of the ONE.
What is to become of the Earth?
Billions of viruses, led by very greedy, insane viruses.
Are destroying, desecrating, anti-democratizing paradise.
This is an outrage; I can-not believe what I saw.
Yesterday, on the TV, I saw the body of a two-year old girl.
On the streets of Syria, but oppression is “everywhere”.
This little angel was shot in the right-eye.

Humanity is blip on the radar of the cosmos, if we destroy ourselves no one will care. Our deaths will not be glorious, only tragic.
Going extinct is not impressive, species do it all the time. Humanity has the capacity for both great and terrible deeds. I believe we have it within ourselves to rise above our flaws and cooperate as a species.
I believe that in the end we will triumph over our greatest enemy, our own despair and greed and reach never before seen heights.

That's how I feel, but sometimes I worry we'll fall short of our abilities.
It's like humanity is a high school student who'd rather cut class and play video games than enrich their mind. If we keep this up we'll end trapped on earth with no non-renewable resources left since we'll have exhausted them all. You can create synthetic diamonds, you can't create synthetic gold (well, in greater amounts than a couple of nanograms).
We have enough food for 7 billion people but we give too much of it to the cows, and the poorest people on earth don't have enough little green pieces of paper to buy even one meal a day.
