Which Way Is America Heading?

Same old shit or crazy new shit?

At this historic moment, as climate-change-induced resource wars appear imminent and spontaneous revolutionary fervor is erupting around the world, it would be good for the people of America, and those who want to be America, to do a bit of soul searching. It would be wise to take this opportunity to ask some fundamental questions about US foreign policy which are continually ignored. Why do we maintain an all-but-irreversible worldwide system of over 1,000 military bases, stations and outposts? Why do our troops serve on the soil of 175 of the 192 member states of the United Nations? And why, at a time when our national debt is spiraling ominously out of control, are we spending more on our military than all the rest of the nations of the world combined?

Of course, the deeper psychological question at the heart of all this is: What are we so afraid of? Why are we trying so hard to control everything? Why can’t we relax and be less fearful of the other? And then, finally, there is this inspiring and uplifting question to ponder: Can we rediscover our ideals as a nation and learn once again how to cast that magical soft-power spell which so enthralled most of humanity in the decades after World War II?

Or is it too late now?

I mean that before we rush into a revolution we should at least try to plan out a democratic system with a constitution that has safeguards against facism, and we should do the economics. I am from America.

[email protected] - let us write a new constitution then. Gots gmail too si prefieres. We can pass it around for further SIMPLE democratic amendments. The economy will need to be addressed at the same time, I agree.

of course you will have people taking their interpretation of ideologies and just running with it! no matter what it is. that is pretty much a given. At this point with so many varying attitudes, outlooks and ways of interpreting things- basically an infinite amount of conflicting information- it is virtually impossible to set up any sort of political/economic system of any merit in any sovereign nation without friction. If you thought it was hard before, nowadays- fuggeddabout it. Youd have to try and please too many people within too short of time for anything to take effect. One of the things to happen first is a fundamental shifting of consciousness, a realization that our demise is inevitable. People ignore, ignore, ignore. That is, until it is too late and it is having an impact on either their income or health. Of course, the systems currently in place have expertly used things like propaganda and brainwashing techniques to convince us that everything is a-ok while at the same time actually having an adverse effect on our health and money. Bank bailouts, Tavistock Corp, the work of Edward Bernays and all the man made afflctions and diseases is just the tip of the iceberg. Im getting kinda worked up so i will stop now.

Yet, as we speak of American expansion of the Coca Cola corpocracy, through military presence and conquest, which does not work well at all, involves guns, bloodshed and force, huge oil consumption; we witness a better formula evolving from China. China intends spreading its communist influence through the proliferation of communal life-style promoting infrastructures, thorium fueled nuclear reactor/electric powered infrastructures, interconnected, networked, by Thorium fueled nuclear reactor generated electricity powered bullet trains. These units will be daisy-chained on continental Asia then into Europe,by demands of the indigenous folk, in a play to become a part of a greater whole, for a better, more communal, safer, better planned existence in an otherwise starving, disorganized, man eat man, pariah capitalist world designed for the benefit of only a few at the top, at the expense of the masses.

I dunno what magical spell you were talking about post WWII...far as I know we were still neck deep in every other country's business and completely entrenched in our state of perpetual warfare. I do not think rising up in any way is a particularly revolutionary idea. Humans have been rising up and killing each other for all of history. I think committing yourself as individual to your beliefs and preaching peacefulness to whomever will listen is the only way to actually make anything happen. There needs to be a fundamental shift in attitude. People are not horrified by warfare, and until they are, why would our government bother to change?
