We Are an Army of Zombies
I arrive home from work, drained and empty. Too tired for human interaction, I press the buttons on the remote and stare blankly into the big TV box. It’s not long before the commercials and endless parade of product placements overwhelm my defenses and penetrate my mind. Every detail of every message is meticulously calculated, designed to be repetitive and hypnotic, played over and over until the mindfuck finally kicks. In. My head is now filled with fatuous desire. Fast forward. Like a junkie on a comedown, I stumble into the sterile mall corridors as if in some kind of trance. The motley group of shoppers surrounding me, all the same – glazed eyes, blank stares, faces twisted into ugly masks of want. We are an army of zombies. Instead of brains and human flesh, we devour strategically placed merchandise and affordably priced products manufactured in China. I quickly drain my plastic cards and my soul, returning home with my bounty of shopping bags. All filled with mass produced garbage, quickly tossed onto a pile of all the other trash I’ve accumulated. Tomorrow I will wake up, have my coffee and leave the comfort and security of my home for work. I will spend another long and tedious day in the indentured monotony that masquerades as a job. When it’s over, I will again return home and rest in front of the big TV box and wait for the radiating commercials, like little particles penetrating what is left of my mind. And every night I tell myself, “maybe one of these days, I’ll pull the plug.”

Very cynical. TV is a gateway to knowledge, just like a book or a movie or a phone etc etc. Adverts can be very cleverly written and makes us laugh and smile. No-one forces anyone to buy anything. The decision and choice is always ours alone. Those that get persuaded are weak, and that's just life. The world and the clever creations in it, in all it's forms, are indeed beautiful and interesting. Take from them the positive. People moan about the media influencing the masses, especially politically. If the masses weren't so stupid there wouldn't be any problems.

Spoken like a true copywriter, like somebody who was rejected by an MFA creative program and is now slumming it in the backwoods of marketing and advertising. You can keep believing that your literary contributions in the form of Hallmark Cards and other ephemera are meaningful, but in reality, nobody cares. Your clever creations aren't as interesting as you think they are.

You gain almost no knowledge from tv, at least from what the majority is brainwashed to watch, endless commercials, and idiotic reality shows. Except for the documentaries that very few care for, tv is the most time wasting, iq dropping device evrer made. Yes their are strong and weak minded people in the world, ones who are easily influenced and persuaded. But they are this way because collaboration between governments and corporations subtle keep the eductaional levels at a minimal. They public is kept blinded and masked while they do what they wish. They want people to work and buy stuff nothing else. They want completet control and the majority doesn't even realize there doing it.

There is nothing wrong of being weak! If we are lucky enough to know how the leaders of the day are using the media to control our wishes, we must liberate the ones that have no idea or didn`t get to that point of knowledge. Medias are tools. They need to stop to exist until we learn how not to abuse and tweak the info coming from them! All that the medias provide these days is misleading filtered info and product push...just like a dealer that tells You "my dope is the shizzle, it will make You swell like the ocean!" but does not share the consequences with You. Right!
