Fight Vampires with Fun
THOMAS HOEPKER/MAGNUM PHOTOS - SCRIBBLINGS OF LIGHT
Hey you alchemists, elves, imps and mischievous masqueraders,
Spectres and spirits of all kinds are coming out to play on All Hallows’ Eve… They’re rising from the dead, just days before the election, to stir up the pot and remind our movement that fun is the way to fight the vampire corporations who are sucking the life-blood out of us all!
This Halloween, invite your friends, invite your enemies … and let's send a shiver down the spine of Wall Street, Capitol Hill and our fr-enemies at the megabanks in every town…
We hear vampires don’t like music, revelry, or celebration … So bring a mask at dusk for an unforgettable trick or treat…
for the wild,

I am eager to attend the Adbuters Halloween event. Is it too much to ask you where this exciting event you've planned is taking place? Or is it primarily a state of mind. As far as I know, there is no "Wall Street" on Capitol Hill, though there may be: I shall check, and would also appreciate a reply. Adbusters is the one mag that all Americans interested in your issues' issues must subscribe to/read, and to meet other interested parties and to share ideas and fun with them sounds like a perfect way to spend the eve of all Hallows. Can't tell if my comment was posted/accepted; can I get a confirmation? And will I be informed as to where this event is purported to take place? I have plenty to offer, so please get back to me.

Hey: waitaminute! You're talking about Capitol Hill Washington DC! I live on what is called Capitol Hill, Seattle, one of the city's seven named hills. I'm bummed: I can't make it all the way out there, nor can I make it to NYC's Wall Street. If you know of any Adbusters events planned to be held out here in the boondocks of Seattle WA, please let me know: the more I am able to connect with other folks who read your fine magazine, the better. “...At some point, as Bettelheim and his followers insist, children have to understand what he calls the "problematic nature of life" - that as well as seesaws and chocolate buttons it contains psychotic drivers, the constant threat of divorce, cruel parents and unknown numbers of paedophiles. It does seem hard on the younger ones, however, that they should be introduced to insecurity almost as soon as they can talk, and long before they can understand what is true and what is make-believe...”

“...While it may be helpful to a child to focus anxiety on a wolf or a dinosaur, neither of which, one can guarantee, will ever get into the house, the aimless menace of Halloween spirits is less easily dismissed. In fact, the desire to fill tiny children's heads with stories of witches, graves and ghoulies seems to me not so much therapeutic as sadistic. Darkness is already dark enough for many children without being populated by the invisible undead...”

P.S: Catherine Bennett made some interesting comments - but no one seems willing to to debate them. Just why is that?

Is this event still going down considering Hurricane Sandy's recent antics

Why does it seem that the people on the subway are mocking and insulting us?
