For twenty years the culture jammer movement has been building momentum for a cultural revolution that will topple consumerism and spark a new way of living. Now Adbusters and our worldwide network of activists (86,000+ and growing) is calling for a Carnivalesque Rebellion this November. Our aim is to create a sudden, unexpected moment of truth – a mass reversal of perspective; a global mindshift – from which the corporate/consumerist forces never fully recover.
Did you miss TACTICAL BRIEFING #1, #2 or 3? Sign up today to make sure you don't miss a single Tactical Briefing
Tactical Briefing:
In the weeks leading up to rebellion, we will release a MANIFESTO, tentatively called THE METAMEME MANIFESTO, that will go pandemic and spread from email to website and zine to word-of-mouth. What do you think should be the gist of this manifesto? What are our demands? What are the big ideas, the radical transformations – the metamemes – without which a viable future is unthinkable? Shoot from the hip to: [email protected].
Inspiration:
Tony Judt passed away August 6. He was a bold meme warrior who inspired generations of social activists with the way he lived, the fearless way he fought for his beliefs and then for the courageous way he died. Check out his work at NYBooks.com, Guardian.co.uk and NYTimes.com and be inspired one more time.
Action:
For the next two weeks, take these two visual memes and circulate them widely. Post them on Twitter, Facebook and blogs or print out the PDFs and paste them to bulletin boards and street corners.

Akbar Strikes.
Anonymous quite being anonymous. Just a thought. Hold one's tongue? How revolutionary. How daring. That seems to be why we are in this mess in the first place. apathy is everywhere. Adbusters is an anti-advertisng movement and I agree with Akbar that it could use inspiration versus skepticism as a tool for social change.
And to repeat myself twice in one week:
Kant says skepticism is no solution.
Skepticism is a resting place for human reasoning.
The aim should be to awaken the restlessness of reason and to see where it might lead. If you are coming to Adbusters to rest and not think what does that say for the movement or the revolution? It's sad when even the Adbusters can't get a passionate readership.
But apathy is abundant and always has been. There is nothing new here. I would recommend watching the game versus reading Adbusters if you are looking to take a break, anonymous.
Try to nspire versus mock. Motivate instead of debilitate thought. I've been reading Adbusters for fifteen years and have been proudly published in it but i must say the past two years or so I'm having a hard time renewing my subscription. It's like turning on the news each day. Drowning in the despair of the world is not a solution for that despair. I mean I know it's bad. I know politicians are liars. I know global warming is terrible. I know capitalism is a failure. My question to you all is, now what?
As for doing something I also write for globatron.org. Here's my latest. I hope it inspires you versus making you want to jump off a bridge:

Mr T
We must act. We must make personal decisions and sacrifices. No matter how small they may be they have an effect on the world.

agreed. we must act. even with consciousness. a positive passionately lived life, alone can be a beacon of hope to those lost and living without hope.
the use of cynicism and sarcasm as a tool to change the world I fear will not be enough.
Mr. T. Very simple solution and response. Thank you.
