Tactical Briefing #25
Hey you redeemers, rebels and radicals out there,
Against the backdrop of a global uprising that is simmering in dozens of countries and thousands of cities and towns, the G8 and NATO will hold a rare simultaneous summit in Chicago this May. The world’s military and political elites, heads of state, 7,500 officials from 80 nations, and more than 2,500 journalists will be there.
And so will we.
On May 1, 50,000 people from all over the world will flock to Chicago, set up tents, kitchens, peaceful barricades and #OCCUPYCHICAGO for a month. With a bit of luck, we’ll pull off the biggest multinational occupation of a summit meeting the world has ever seen.
And this time around we’re not going to put up with the kind of police repression that happened during the Democratic National Convention protests in Chicago, 1968 … nor will we abide by any phony restrictions the City of Chicago may want to impose on our first amendment rights. We’ll go there with our heads held high and assemble for a month-long people’s summit … we’ll march and chant and sing and shout and exercise our right to tell our elected representatives what we want … the constitution will be our guide.
And when the G8 and NATO meet behind closed doors on May 19, we’ll be ready with our demands: a Robin Hood Tax … a ban on high frequency ‘flash’ trading … a binding climate change accord … a three strikes and you’re out law for corporate criminals … an all out initiative for a nuclear-free Middle East … whatever we decide in our general assemblies and in our global internet brainstorm – we the people will set the agenda for the next few years and demand our leaders carry it out.
And if they don’t listen … if they ignore us and put our demands on the back burner like they’ve done so many times before … then, with Gandhian ferocity, we’ll flashmob the streets, shut down stock exchanges, campuses, corporate headquarters and cities across the globe … we’ll make the price of doing business as usual too much to bear.
Jammers, pack your tents, muster up your courage and prepare for a big bang in Chicago this Spring. If we don’t stand up now and fight now for a different kind of future we may not have much of a future … so let’s live without dead time for a month in May and see what happens …

I find it amusing that these people consider themselves 99 percent. Don't speak for me. I don't share your views. You are the minority... you are even less than 1 percent.
Also your statistic makes no sense because it is completely backwards. 1 percent of the country (the 3 million government employees) are the ones who make this country run. The remaining 99 percent, plus the 1 percent are the ones who run the country.

I find it amusing that you just made up some statistics. From 2008 data, there were ~22mil gov't workers, from 2010 there were ~21mil gov't workers. This is closer to 7-8%. This is a much more significant number of people than you let on, and it renders your already poorly formed point completely moot. The reference to the 1% is that the top 1% of income (The 400 richest in the country) is more than the bottom ~85% combined. It's not about people who work for the gov't, they certainly aren't 1%ers.

Well said, but your use of "profanity and obscenity" only add to the climate of hostility that is out there, even though you may be right, just remember saying it in a way that is "less offensive" might give your position more and not less credibility, I too do agree that "non violent protest" is preferable, the question remains if it is more effective, I do believe however that "my method" is based on "not resisting evil" but instead overcoming evil with good, and if everyone felt that way, we would be able to "overcome evil" quicker by confronting it with truth, instead of by "violently overthrowing it" which only brings another evil dictatorship to power like it did in Germany who murder innnocent minorities like JEWS in order to "line the evil pockets of wicked kings" even more!

Your hatred is "understandable" and I agree with you that "causing riots" in a city is not a "business as usual" kind of thing, however, if you side with "EVIL KINGS WHO HAVE MURDERED PEOPLE BY THE MILLION" and as a city you have brought to power two presidents who both were "seeking to promote peace" while continuing to fight wars, because "EVIL NEIGHBORS" known as "secret societies" would not let them have peace, therefore I must conclude that the "CITY OF CHICAGO" because of its "mafia presence" and the "slaughterhouses" and the gangsters of Chicago are "proverbial" so to speak and now even McKinley if I understand correctly was nominated by the "CHICAGO POLITICAL MACHINE" and therefore as a very populous city, I do expect some "change" but it will not come by the "application of tear gas" nor will it come by the "detonation of a nuclear weapon" but it will come finally as a "still small voice" that will wisper to the american people saying:

Hmm... You openly declare violence upon a stereotype of people and you probably expect respect from them.
The thing you are most mistaken about is the "uneducated" part. People wil come down to protest such things that you should be for, Moe. Like Justice and Equality before the law. (How much taxes do you pay? Do you pay practically none like the top 1%?)
Sure, if someone breaks your store window you have a right to be pissed and to fight back.
But just what do you mean by "disrupt" your business? A crowd in the street in front of it? A parade down your street? People camping in the park nearby? Why all your hate?
That you "can't wait to kick people so hard that they shit blood for weeks" means that you are an arrogant prick. (And can't even say they word "shit"! Why? Kind of a priss at heart?
You will cower in you store (if you got one) when you see the number of people marching.
