Soft Regime Change in America
The #OCCUPY movement is entering an ominous new phase.
Police attacked #OCCUPYOAKLAND on Tuesday with tear gas, rubber bullets and flash grenades. Scott Olsen, a two time Iraq war veteran, was critically wounded in the assault. Graphic pictures of an unconscious Olsen, his skull fractured, being carried by fellow protestors to safety have reverberated from Zuccotti to Cairo and escalated the movement. On Wednesday, three thousand protestors reclaimed the square, reestablished their encampment and held a general assembly that called for a General Strike.
"We as fellow occupiers of Oscar Grant Plaza propose that on Wednesday November 2, 2011, we liberate Oakland and shut down the 1%... All banks and corporations should close down for the day or we will march on them."
There are signs of occupations in other cities taking up Oakland's call. A tantalizing possibility hangs in the air: Could a wildcat general strike spread across the nation? Are we witnessing the first clues of how a soft regime change might begin in America?

Recall the seven deadly sins.. I don't think I can describe capitalism or any other "ism" to be a bad thing or idea but I really believe that all types of government run their course and eventually Peter out once the pendulum has swung too far one way or the other. Be left wing, be right wing be whatever you want to stand for. Ask yourself in the end will this all really matter? Take an evolutionary standpoint. Human nature will do its thing. The "rich bankers" aren't going to give up what they have and they who want will strive to have what they haven't obtained. Is it really about the 1% or the 99%? What makes the two so different? For the both: 1%, where is your integrity? Care for the human race? 99%, Why is it so important to thrive and envy what others have? Why not make your own path? Isn't that the definition of capitalism? In conclusion, I believe that greed and envy is the driving cause of this violence, whether it be an honored hero such as the man illustrated in this article, or a prominent business man who has worked towards success.
Much love..

Dear friend: still no company on earth is able to produce water. Corporations just bottle this thing which actually is already ours ("we, the people") and do profits on the "value" they add — which unfortunately is exactly the negative ecological footprint (bottling factories and delivery trucks) that is our present damnation. Consumers pay for water they already own and receive in change pollution, while corporations get wealthy and CEOs get new Mercedes's every six months. These are facts.

HAHAHAHA I seriously laughed at this when I read it.. We are so far beyond water and having it. It's dumb ass people that buy the water! I'm guilty and I'm sure that ever one that's posted on here is too.
Have you bought insurance lately? If not and you're driving a car you would be breaking the law.. Just saying. If the government requires auto insurance, why is insurance being capitalized on? It's examples like this that need to be taken into consideration. Ie) Healthcare. That one's a little shaky but seriously people need medication and the owners of pfizer need money to profit and pay for production. Fuck Socialism. Capitalism is a wonderful thing but it seems like there needs at this point to be checks and balances on these types of things.

Water? Really! I have been saying for years that the next big thing will be water. Living in the Great Lakes area only brings this closer to home. Diversion of water from the great lakes to other states has been a hot button issue for years. Can any of us really envision the terror that could rain down on us if corporations were allowed to regulate and control the flow of fresh water from the biggest basin of fresh water on the planet?

It is the last and most essential commodity to humanity. Thankfully there are agreements in place to prevent the diversion of our areas greatest asset. It wouldn't take much for the leaders in our area, under pressure to find new revenue streams, to make agreements allowing private control over fresh water reserves. This is truly scary! Let's be proactive and make sure this never ever happens.
