SHAME ON CANADA!
Youth activists stood up to global leaders in Durban... now can we do the same here in Canada? As Canada becomes the first country to officially announce its withdrawal from Kyoto, what will we stand up and do about this betrayal? Should we occupy Peter Kent's office? Mic check Stephen Harper wherever he goes? Let off a stink bomb in parliament?

It was betrayal of Canada when Jean Cretien sign that piece of toilet paper of a contract. Thank God Harper had the brains to get out of it. Sorry to tell you all the plain and simple truth. Dig it up now, or dig it up later we will burn all the energies that this planet has to offer. We sit at 7 billion people on a planet that can only sustain 3-4 billion people with the technologies we have now. We got to this 7 billion because of only three reasons.... Oil, Gas and coal. I agree we need to conserve, but sorry to say that I think we are screwed unless population is controlled and decreased. The Liberals never would of met the quota's either and would of been pulling out of this accord also. So slamming the conservatives and Harper is just putting your head in the sand.

I don't like the Libs either, but that doesn't make Harper good. In fact, I like him even less.
"Sorry to tell you all the plain and simple truth." An opinion is not a truth. Don't apologize, but don't call it something it isn't.
"Dig it up now, or dig it up later we will burn all the energies that this planet has to offer." On the contrary, when we 'dig it up' makes an enormous difference. We'll develop the technology to take CO2 out of the atmosphere sometime in the future, which we can't do right now. If we pollute later on, then, it won't matter as much. As well, the slower climate change takes place, the better the flora and fauna will be able to adapt to it.

I know a good way to get CO2 out of the atmosphere: trees, forest, algae...

Then why are we cutting the trees and forests down?

Canada under Stephen Harper has become the best poodle Israel can have it. Harper is allergic to Durban and all other international forums where he feels Israel will be critcized for it Zionazi policies against native Muslims and Christians or women and African Jews. according to Harper, criticism of Israel is "just old-fashioned anti-Semitism".
Kent, on his part, told Canadians that "an attack against Israel (by Iran) is an attack against Canada". Jason Kenney have been pissed off on British MP George Galloway's support for Palestinian and in October blasted Amnesty International for demanding that Canada should arrest George Bush on charges of war crimes against humanity.
In September 2011, Harper boycotted Durban III in New York on the lame excuse that the conference was going to be addressed by Iranian President Dr. Ahmadinejad.
