SHAME ON CANADA!

Stephen Harper has betrayed the Canadian people by opting out of the Kyoto Protocol.

Youth activists stood up to global leaders in Durban... now can we do the same here in Canada? As Canada becomes the first country to officially announce its withdrawal from Kyoto, what will we stand up and do about this betrayal? Should we occupy Peter Kent's office? Mic check Stephen Harper wherever he goes? Let off a stink bomb in parliament?

MATURE. Thanks for your input. AWESOME insight.
jesus.

point of interest- Mohamed Bouazizi- actually worked to the worlds favour. Not saying we should all go die as you are backhandedly sugesting the left just kill itself off.. however- there is much to be said for martyrdom that should not be downplayed.

It was betrayal of Canada when Jean Cretien sign that piece of toilet paper of a contract. Thank God Harper had the brains to get out of it. Sorry to tell you all the plain and simple truth. Dig it up now, or dig it up later we will burn all the energies that this planet has to offer. We sit at 7 billion people on a planet that can only sustain 3-4 billion people with the technologies we have now. We got to this 7 billion because of only three reasons.... Oil, Gas and coal. I agree we need to conserve, but sorry to say that I think we are screwed unless population is controlled and decreased. The Liberals never would of met the quota's either and would of been pulling out of this accord also. So slamming the conservatives and Harper is just putting your head in the sand.

I'm sorry, but that simply isn't true- we can easily sustain our 7 billion on the technologies we have now. We can and we do. We have abundant resources, perfectly capable of sustaining our population- we could feed a starving world on what we throw away. We won't have a global population crisis until the middle of this century, and that will only be if we continue to ignore the actual problems- with the the exponential growth/increases of technology alone, we are capable of avoiding such a crisis altogether. This is a unique challenge to our generation, and the very real danger lies not in how many people live on this planet, but in how many people on this planet think it cannot be done.
