Robin Hood Tax Gains Traction

US and UK still the holdouts.
Cut out mask

As Occupy gears up for the American Spring, our European counterparts will soon have one OWS victory to put in their cap. In France this past week, lawmakers put their backing behind a bill for a Robin Hood (Tobin) Tax. The tax, a fraction of a percent on all derivative, currency and securities transactions, will equate to billions of dollars for social programs (at a nominal cost to the markets) and will reign in the worst elements of speculative trading in Europe.

This marks the long beginning of the necessary radical shift in the economic paradigm of our age. Germany and the Eurozone states are already on board, leaving only the U.K. and the U.S. defending unbridled neo-conservative free market gains.

For all of us this side of the Atlantic, the obvious question is: why not a Tobin Tax here?

When the G8 meets in Chicago this May, lets make sure that Occupy is there to greet them with a demand for Robin Hood.

(Reuters) – France wants to target bonds and derivatives, as well as stocks, with a new tax on financial transactions which the conservative government hopes to introduce before an April presidential election, Finance Minister Francois Baroin said on Tuesday.

President Nicolas Sarkozy’s government is keen to push ahead with a “Tobin tax” even without its European Union partners …

I'm French and the only problem here is that Sarkozy has always been against a 'Tobin tax' in its initial form: to help poor countries / Third world countries. He has also always been opposed to the 'Robin Hood tax': to help poor countries abroad, to fight climate change and to create better public services in France.
But now suddenly he wants to create a 'Tobin tax' for 'himself': this is not to help poor countries abroad, this is not to fight climate change and this certainly not to create better public services here since he's been cutting public services budgets since day one. This money will only serve to reduce the state's debt, that's it...
So it's not really the 'Robin Hood tax' I'm afraid...

i am german and i assume that you are right with your analysis on sarkozy`s inducement concerning his transition to a "tobin tax creator". i also think that you are right by expecting that the money he wants to generate by installing the tt "will only serve to reduce the state's debt".

with that said this leads me to the conclusion that after all sarko is trying (maybe better: compelled) to finally do the first step to solve one of the world`s most complex problems, namely the states debts. and it seems that this time he doesn`t want to squeeze the poors again or the hard working people, the jobless or families.

the motivation for his change of mind might be that he is facing a main election this year but maybe it just so happens that sarko is in the position to exceptionally make the right desicions at a time when there is an extreme demand for action.

You understand clearly, that the OWS Funder, Mr. G. Soros opposes this taxation concept.
If you desire to continue demonstrations, with adequate funding, then you had better think twice, before espousing such a tax.

Soros OSI and his funds derive thier income from derivatives, and the transfer of money therein. A tax would crimp thier wallet. Soros has a real attitude towards anyone messing with his money.

I personally oppose this tax also because I too have an investment account and I do trade in it when I get a chance which lately has been difficult since as an Elder in Zion the current world conspiracy has deprived me of both my driver's licence and my bank account and everyone except myself and those who depend on me for support are "OK WITH THAT"?

I realize of course you are all a bunch of "cowards" when it comes to confronting the "REAL CRIMINALS" who have raped and murdered this globe either because you do not "KNOW OR CARE" who did it, which is a result of both IGNORANCE AND INDIFFERENCE I challenge people to wake up and study the History of the masonic conspiracy and realize they are not a "friendly club of elderly gentlemen" who just like to help widows and orphans except on the lower levels, on the upper level meaning on the 33 rd degree level they are "heavily involved" in "world domination" and if you do not believe check these books:

FREEMASONRY EXPOSED by William Morgan

and

Letters of John Quincy Adams to the High Priest of Freemasonry MR Livingstone as available only in the RARE BOOK DEPARTMENT OF THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS, a visit to Washington DC is necessary if you want to access his highly controversial book, that has been written by a president who has been called "DECEIVED" by this fraternity of wicked kings of planet earth!

So the illuminati is real?
I am studying Indian Mounds, in archeology mounds,

It all is starting to add together.
Are we doomed?

Our media are totally controlled by the big money crooks. Very few people know this, even fewer believe it because of all the media effort to the contrary.

Most libraries cannot keep informative books anymore.

It may be difficult for ordinary people to go to Washington and gain access to the RARE BOOKS DEPARTMENT. If you really want to know the plan, a simpler way is to read THE PROTOCOLS OF THE LEARNED ELDERS OF ZION. This book too was removed from most library shelves, but copies are still available over the internet. In Canada its import is banned by the Canada Customs.

The power mongers of our time claim it is fake, but they appear less and less credible with every passing day, because this book is more than a hundred years old, and most of the plans and procedures described in it have already been implemented.

Do read it if you wish to know the moneylenders' real plan.
