Hey you jammers, dreamers, patriots and revolutionaries out there,
What will happen this Saturday when thousands of us descend on Lower Manhattan and start walking towards Wall Street?
If the police try to stop us, how will we respond?
This is what happened in Madrid last month when the Spanish government tried to stop people from gathering in the Puerta del Sol, site of the people's encampment:
"All day long, 300 police officers kept the square hermetically sealed off, even closing the Sol metro station – one of the largest and most important in the city … When the protesters realized they couldn't take the square, they quickly dissolved into a dozen side-streets and regrouped on a number of key locations … For hours now, protesters have been blocking all the main traffic arteries in the city center … Tens of thousands of indignados have brought Madrid to a complete standstill in a spontaneous and defiant bid to reclaim Puerta del Sol … The mass protest is now reported to be headed back towards Sol for a second time, in another attempt to take back the square."

If the police block us temporarily from occupying Wall Street, then let's turn all of lower Manhattan into our Tahrir Square. Let's sing our songs in the lobby of Goldman Sachs and in Chase Manhattan Plaza; let's wave our signs outside the SEC and the Federal Reserve; let's convene our people's assemblies around the Charging Bull statue at Bowling Green … and if need be, let's set up our encampments in nearby Battery Park and other places until we're ready to walk into Wall Street again …
Anything can and will happen this Saturday. That's the beauty of it! Ultimately, the only thing that matters in how many of us turn up eager to be a part of a spontaneous creative swarm and determined to bring the financial fraudsters to justice.
Bring signs, flowers, food and a revolutionary mood … and a commitment to absolute nonviolence in the Gandhian tradition.

I guess we do have to trot out the ol' quotes from Gandhi himself once again for those who don't understand the nature of "tolerant repression" i.e giving the stupid, non-violent protestors a cookie to shut them up and continue robbing them of their life's blood:
"I WOULD risk violence a thousand times rather than risk the emasculation of a whole race."
I think we can safely say we have reached the point where the emasculation of the whole race has been perpetrated by the target of this coming protest.
"I do believe that, where there is only a choice between cowardice and violence, I would advise violence... I would rather have India resort to arms in order to defend her honour than that she should, in a cowardly manner, become or remain a helpless witness to her own dishonor."

We have arrived at a place where peaceful protests can no longer solve anything. Far from being agit-prop designed to incite and entrap this is merely a salient observation not only of the U.S but globally.
You think anything changed in Egypt without violence? Please. The reason it changed is because there was violence and the threat of violence. That mob would not shut up like they were told and they threatened to tear the place apart if they had to to get justice. That's what changed Egypt. Singing and dancing yes! But in the end it is the threat to the elite that does it. The threat of destruction. And violence. And those people meant business. And the global elite are terrified that Egypt can spread. That people CAN change things - that they will be given hope from Egypt and that they will be coming for their hides in every other place where greed has won the day, like oh, say Wall Street for example.
This is precisely why the Arab spring has to be contained and crushed and co-opted and re-appropriated by and for the corporate elite parasites. Chomsky backs this up. If such a thing as the Arab Spring is allowed to be a success then the whole world order will fall as people everywhere see that it can be done. Take "Israel" as an example. If they apologize for their crimes humanity their whole fabricated fantasy land will crumble because the whole thing is built on injustice and war-crime and immunity bought and extorted from the U.S. To admit even one failure is to admit the whole thing is a fraud. That's how precarious the whole corporate, capitalist world order is. It can fall that easy. But not unless the sickness that has hypnotized the world is threatened with expulsion and even, yes...violence. A violent expulsion if need be. As violent as the defense they put up.
So if they kettle you and mock you and pay no heed and try to crush you they are dictating the terms of their demise. They are telling you that nothing else will work but violence. They are asking you to come and cut the torch of freedom from their greedy fingers.
"Democracy" of course is a failure that has been sold long, ago. Anything that comes from the top and is sanctioned and permitted - like non-violent protest - is naturally impotent because that is what it is designed to do: take your power away. And give it back to the elite. Who will then sell you piece of it back to you. For a premium.
So yeah, fuck all that. Go Egypt on these blind, sick fucks.
And please no more simplifying Gandhi into this commercialized, pre-packaged non-sense. Don't recreate the same stupid mistakes over and over. Nonviolence is tactically ineffective, and pacifist ideology is based entirely on selective and manipulated understandings of history.
Spain WAS a failure, largely thanks to the pacifists. The "real democracy" movement is a RECUPERATION of actual social struggle--the friendly face that turns our efforts at overturning the system back into the system.
We need to get beyond simplistic understandings of situations like "violence begets violence."
