#OCCUPYCAMPDAVID
The G8 retreat from Chicago to Camp David brings a new tactical dilemma to Occupy. Do we carry on with the old model, locating contested space and establishing a physical encampment? Or do we sojourn into an uncharted vector of resistance where symbolic space is transient, fluid and less-significant? Here’s the view of Occupier Sean Nolan. Have a read and weigh in.
After months of gestation, confusion, internal conflict, regrouping and rethinking, the Occupy movement has come through the winter, in my mind at least, for the better. Those of us who are focused on changing the way that this country’s “elected” (or shall I say, bought and paid for) officials do business are more focused than a diamond cutting laser. Those of us who are focused on making a true American Spring are prepared.
As many of you now may very well know, the G8 meeting in Chicago that was scheduled for the 18th of May, has been moved to Camp David, a secure military compound guarded by US Marines that houses the President for private formal or informal occasions. Now let me be clear, the G8 is a meeting between the eight most powerful leaders in the world to discuss “key issues” facing the geopolitical sphere. There is a G12 meeting, a G20, and so on.

fRITZ.
correct me if I am wrong but hasnt congress passed law that it is illegal to protest near the white house or anywhere that the president is in the area of? Being that Camp David is a secure Presidential compound could one not assume that this would be walking right into detention?

It has not been signed into law yet. And even if it is signed into law it has yet to be tested. If we allow them to tell us when and where we can protest then we might as well go home and give up. We must fight for our right to be free!

Fight is such a violent verb. How about Sing, Dance, Act, Play, Love, Joke, Mock, Clown, Spin, Flip, Scream, Pout, Usher, Court, Seduce, Serenade, Honor, Pray, Worship, Rout, Heave, Birth, Exaggerate, Re interpolate, Communicate, Protest, Hoist or Execute ?
Rights are an abstract concept the Elite invented. The truth is, you can do anything, but the consequences for some of those things are more damaging to your person then others.
The World as is, is utterly absurd in its operation, and Elites are well aware of this discrepancy.
Be equally absurd in your societal disruption!
Humans get confused when they are confronted with the new, unusual and the unexpected. We can't help it, we fear the unknown. This phenomenon must strategically exploit- we must be appear to behave as randomly as possible to misdirect oppressors and help them step out of their rigid social programming.
The stage is now Camp David. The audience are the Elite. Lets put on a hell of a show- it might be our last.

I agree. Elites view the World as a predictable circuit board of checks and balances. They think they can see the Future because the believe that they make the future.
Elites are under the persuasion that the masses are predictable sheep. Elites have also never been more wrong.
Ask yourselves, all of you, is your behavior predictable, or could you act differently, even if just to prove any suspicions wrong?
Obviously, the answer I for one hope for is that no, none of our actions are predictable, and that yes, anything, ANYTHING, can happen.

Yes-occupy Chicago and #occupycampdavid but come to Aspen 4 the summer when the elites arrive. And don't worry about arrest here-- The Sheriff and Police believe in freedom of expression and protest in Aspen---Occupy the Aspen Ideas Fesival. 07.01.2012

I am against worrying about being politically correct. Fight means to resist and if what we are doing is not resisting then perhaps I missed something

Civil Rights history has taught us a very important lesson :
Jail, not bail.
Detention in perpetuity has always been costly to the State (and would likely be an equal pain in the ass for the Market).

Wait, are you saying that the President has the right not to hear mouth to ear from those who elected him?
That's not democracy!
Furthermore, its all the more reason to go up to his silly face and tell him how you feel!
After all, WE PAY THEIR FUCKING SALARY.

Eh, people...The description of Camp David is kinda true but Camp David is actually in the middle of a huge campground that people can legitimately camp in. And there is a little town right near-by. The roads are part of the National Park System so they qualify as public property. This seems like it might be a wonderful place to stage demonstrations. It would be really cool if people actually reserved campsites and thousands of people showed up. There are already facilities to accommodate campers. It seems like a no-brainer to go there and do lots of creative stuff. Just sayin...

don't be fooled by the name, Camp David is not a "camp" or a "park" it is officially known as Naval Support Facility Thurmont and is technically a military installation; staffing is primarily provided by the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Marine Corps. (wikipedia)
