Battle for the Soul of Occupy
Alright you jammers, occupiers and Springtime dreamers,
First they silenced our uprising with a media blackout… then they smashed our encampments with midnight paramilitary raids… and now they’re threatening to neutralize our insurgency with an insidious campaign of donor money and co-optation. This counter-strategy worked to kill off the Tea Party’s outrage and turn it into a puppet of the Republican Party. Will the same happen with Occupy Wall Street? Will our insurgency turn into the Democrats’ Tea Party pet?
It’s up to you to decide if our movement goes the way of Paris ’68, the dust bin of could-have-been-insurrections, or something more daring, more inspiring, something not yet dreamed.
Will you allow Occupy to become a project of the old left, the same cabal of old world thinkers who have blunted the possibility of revolution for decades? Will you allow MoveOn, The Nation and Ben & Jerry to put the brakes on our Spring Offensive and turn our struggle into a “99% Spring” reelection campaign for President Obama?
We are now in a battle for the soul of Occupy… a fight to the finish between the impotent old left and the new vibrant, horizontal left who launched Occupy Wall Street from the bottom-up and who dreams of real democracy and another world.
Whatever you do, don’t allow our revolutionary struggle to fizzle out into another lefty whine and clicktivist campaign like has happened so many times in the past. Let’s Occupy the clicktivists and crash the MoveOn party. Let’s #DEFENDOCCUPY and stop the derailment of our movement that looms ahead.
for the wild,

Fuck the Democrats
Awesome. Obamatopia!
I love being sodomized by the Democratic Party, and then told they really were doing me a favor, because Republicans were going to do it, but without the whispering of sweet nothings in my ear, first.

With whom are the Republicans "competing"? It's not as if the Dems have fought for the working class. Let's not forget that Pelosi sat on the secret NSA wiretapping committee under Bush - rubber stamping, that the Dems gave the repeated thumbs up to the PATRIOT ACT (they were, let us not forget, in the majority at the time), and that Obama has deepened the attacks on civil rights (declaring it his presidential right to call a hit on anyone, including US citizens), expanded wars, pushed hard to privatize education, offered up a huge love letter to the health insurance industry with his health plan, stopped every attempt to prosecute Bush war criminals, and made sure to prosecute whistle-blowers, and persecuted Assange for revealing secrets he'd rather were kept hidden. There's more, of course, but tell me, please, how is any of this a break with the Bush years? If anything, it's an acceleration.

Yeah but, the Inane Stream Media has been entertaining me with master comedians that like Obama and he has more fizzle than Romney.
dravazed
Especially amusing are the comments by Democratic [sic] Party hacks so insulated from reality that they have an epiphany: "You mean to tell me Occupy is considering not voting for Dear Leader?!" Honestly, this is the same detachment from the real world that explains the March of the Lemmings (aka American labor movement) and unbroken swerve of the Dems to the right, that are the defining political developments since the high-water mark of the Sixties.
It simply does not register on the consciousness of these bureaucrat wannabes that civil liberties--what remains of them--are under unremitting attack by smiling Obama and his acolytes, to a degree unseen since the reign of that great American, Richard Nixon. It doesn't matter that Goldman Sachs is in the Cabinet, it doesn't matter that Dear Leader has blazed the trail towards outright fascism by arrogating to himself the power to order the assassination of anyone, no trial or judicial process required...no, there's no point in going on with this list, because their behavior has nothing to do with what's going on in the country. It is simply a Stepford Wife kind of glazed-eyed zombie walk through the mall, looking for the brand name Democrat.
However, that's this particular milieu and I still hold to what I said earlier about the many activists--many of them just entering politics--who will be participating in the 99%Spring. They haven't figured out yet that the entire exercise is to get them to vote for the executioners with the D by their names.
Fuck the Democrats
Yeah. You nailed it. They came here from Kos. I saw the link. Lulz!

I agree about the old left , it caused confusion. The WSM (SPGB) has opposed the left and advocated real world socialism since 1904. It has no leaders and has never had a leader and is controlled by its members. I left the party in the 80s but have rejoined, mainly because of the Occupy movement which has given me hope. Keep up the good work

Re-electing Obama is continuing the rape of the Republic by his Masters at Goldman Sachs.
Obama sold everyone a bill of goods in 2008.
He is Bush with a black face.
Do not fall for the "two-party" system. Goldman wins either way.
Change the banking laws, audit the Fed, return the issuance of money to the people.
Hussein is a fool
you Progressive loony tunes are done
