How You Can Help #OCCUPYWALLSTREET

As we enter day five of the protests, join in and help out your fellow 99%.

These patriot occupiers are fighting for 99 percent of us. Those who are unemployed, uninsured, underemployed and totally insecure in the face of ever increasing social and financial inequities. They are standing up for those who cannot be there right now.

Here's the good news – you can help, right now today – no matter where you are.

  1. Spread the word – there's something going on. People have started a movement – they're occupying Wall Street. Hundreds of people have been camped out in lower Manhattan for four days!
  2. If you're in New York and can only spare a little time or money: bring American flags, cardboard, markers, water, etc. down to Liberty Park.
  3. If you're in the New York area and have a day, a morning, an afternoon, go down there. The weather appears to be holding. Take the day off and just go. I know it sounds hard to believe but you will be heard. This is an open general assembly effort and you will get your say and be a real participant.
  4. If you are a little ways from NYC, organize foursomes to go to NYC for the day. It will cost you the train/bus/car fare. Take nothing but some food and water and your body.
  5. Too far to get to NYC? Sign this petition and I will read your name and comments in Liberty Park this week, I promise. Break Up Goldman Sachs Now!
  6. Be subversive against the big money interests wherever you are and encourage others to do the same. Don't give the banksters 4 percent of every purchase you make with a credit or debit card – use cash. See: UseCashMovement
  7. Be subversive: max out your credit card on large ticket items and return them the next day. (This one is right out of the Saul Alinsky playbook.)
  8. Move your money from a big bank to a credit union.
  9. Picket a local branch of a bank. When the press asks you what the heck you think you're doing, tell them it's in solidarity with Occupy Wall Street.
  10. Send food to the protesters in Liberty Park through a New York friend or go to the live stream chat for information on local eats that will take your order. (Yes, you'll have to use your credit card, big spender!)
  11. Do you know anybody who knows anybody who knows a writer, a celebrity, etc. who will show their face at the protest? Get to them now.

*Bonus support idea: Spread the word again, and repeat!

I think that part of the beauty of the movement is that no one opinion
or beliefs or manifesto even attempts to speak for everyone. We are
diverse, we are different, we may not agree on everything. What we
do seem to believe is..

That corporations and financial enterprises have FAR too much influence on government.

That the short sighted profit driven activities of many corporations is a danger to humanity.

That the more challenging (through regulations etc.) we make manufacturing and other large
enterprises THE BETTER THEY ARE, THE MORE COMPETITIVE THEY ARE.

Why aren't the profits of banks and other institutions given back to the people, since it was
THE PEOPLE, through the government that bailed them out and ensured their continued
existence. WHY ISN'T THE GOVERNMENT GETTING A CUT?

or maybe it's just me that thinks that. :)

If only if that were true...try going there and saying you're a conservative or "right"-libertarian and see how many of the 'protesters' involved with OWS are accepting of you.

My heart is with you brothers and sisters. Do not back down. You have the power to create the world YOU and WE want to see as a WHOLE. We are all one. You are there for the mass. I wish I could be there right along side of you. But I cannot. I am here in Eugene, Oregon. We have just started hearing about this, this week. So keep it going. The hope/info is spreading.

I may start a protest in front of the Chase building here in town. They have been putting fines on people's accounts for their own mistakes, and not doing any refunds. It's pissing me off.

I have not had a bank account in several years. In fact, I owe them $140 ;) Which they will not be getting back!! I do not have any credit cards or paypal accounts. I support wikileaks and Anonymous. I am an American Rebel.

This is supposed to be OUR government. That WE elect. Not a bunch of business people. Half of them have worked for nasty corporations at some point. How is that ok? It's NOT!

Stand your ground. Do not back down. Don't let the champagne drinking facad get to you. It is in human nature to be compassionate. Have hope for them. By being you, being kind, and standing up for what you believe in, YOU are making a difference! YOU are the change WE wish to see in the world. WE believe it is possible!!!!!!!!!! A shift IS happening. It has been felt for so long. Cooking under the surface. Here it is!

Thanks for what you’re all doing; I wish I could be there with you! The economic slavery has to end! We should camp out in the homes, golf course, raid buildings and make life miserable for all at the top 1%, make a list of who these people are and put a camera in their face every day, go protest the school of their kids and tell them how their parents are traitors, we should do the same with their buddy politicians, we need to show the nation how these business men and politicians are one in the same. Would be great to make a reality show which hunts and harasses those losers, I’m sure that would really piss them off!

“The end of democracy and the defeat of the American Revolution will occur when government falls into the hands of lending institutions and moneyed incorporations.”
