Jammers, dreamers, patriots,

Anonymous has just released a video communique endorsing #OCCUPYWALLSTREET. Using language from our first Tactical Briefing, the video calls on protesters to adopt the nonviolent Tahrir-acampadas model. On the 17th of September, it says, "flood into lower Manhattan, set up tents, kitchens, peaceful barricades and occupy Wall Street for a few months … Once there, we shall incessantly repeat one simple demand in a plurality of voices."

See also signs of support for S17 on Anonymous's Twitter and websites.

Meanwhile S17 is surging ahead internationally. Simultaneous occupations of financial districts are now being planned in New York City, Madrid, Milan, London, Paris and San Francisco. With a bit of luck, this list of participating cities will expand.

If we can pull together just the right mix of nonviolence, tenacity and strategic smarts, S17 could be the beginning of the global revolution we've all been dreaming about for so long … wouldn't that be lovely.

for the wild,

"Justice is coming"...

I find this near offensive. Although in content, there's nothing to dispute- headlining justice as a movie title is disrespectful to the sacredness in real justice. Also, it adds a religious sentiment to the whole experience- as if some god justice will descend and save us all. Yeah Right.

I'm moving away from a certain type of activist activity...because I'm starting to feel like for a lot of people it's about an identity and emotional appeal more than fact. Anti system this, anti system that. I just experience the sheer alternate for awhile and it's not that great either.

Can we keep these discussions grounded in reality, not emotional appeals/ making light of topics like justice through structuring them in entertaining ways?

I could not agree with you more about how we need to stop " making light of topics like justice through structuring them in entertaining ways"

There is more injustice going on in this world than entertainment, something that everyone has a part in, for enjoyment.

People, striving for justice, has to me, a ceartain emotional appeal ! We humans, are by desighn emotional creatures, eager to establish a sense of identity. It is a good thing to identify, and desire to be identified by others, as agents to the cause of justice.
It is also a good thing to know that at least some people, find the quest for justice, at least as entertaining as'' Dancing with the Stars'' !
