Jammers, dreamers, patriots,

Anonymous has just released a video communique endorsing #OCCUPYWALLSTREET. Using language from our first Tactical Briefing, the video calls on protesters to adopt the nonviolent Tahrir-acampadas model. On the 17th of September, it says, "flood into lower Manhattan, set up tents, kitchens, peaceful barricades and occupy Wall Street for a few months … Once there, we shall incessantly repeat one simple demand in a plurality of voices."

See also signs of support for S17 on Anonymous's Twitter and websites.

Meanwhile S17 is surging ahead internationally. Simultaneous occupations of financial districts are now being planned in New York City, Madrid, Milan, London, Paris and San Francisco. With a bit of luck, this list of participating cities will expand.

If we can pull together just the right mix of nonviolence, tenacity and strategic smarts, S17 could be the beginning of the global revolution we've all been dreaming about for so long … wouldn't that be lovely.

for the wild,

One simple demand: we want freedom.

Oh right, freedom! No problem. I thought you were just a bunch of preppy hipsters with third world pretentions demonstrating the freedom you already have,

For a minute I thought you were going to demand something specific that we could focus on and discuss, but I'm relieved you just chose the most ambiguous, rhetoric pregnant slogan that is utterly impossible to define let alone address so that no tangible outcome actually has to eventuate.

In the first world you can fuck who you want, worship who you want, do what you want. If you think you are a slave to some kind of debt riddled dead end job then snap the fuck out of it and do something that makes you happy. If you are happy but you're fighting for the other debt laden brain dead robots then shut your fascist mouth the fuck up. Maybe people are happy in their nine to five jobs and their 2.5 kid families. Maybe they don't want some privileged yuppie telling them what's good for them.

Exercise the freedom you have and take a holiday and chill the fuck out. Or put your money where your mouth is and move to the Tehran and join in a real protest movement.

Damn.

U mad bro?

If you can't acknowledge that legislation has been put in place that starts us down the slippery slope to 1984, then no one can save you from your ignorance. Your AMURRICA IS THE GREATEST rhetoric will get you nowhere here, though it may get you a presidential nomination.

We may not live in a dystopian hellhole yet, but the slippery slope always resides in the present. You must not have noticed the steady eroding of civil rights, justified by the ambiguous, all encompassing term of 'turr'rists.' Or the unlimited money poured into campaigns, turning our politicians into whores, taking money under the table so they can give big oil a quickie while the people aren't looking.

Personally, I'm not comfortable until my vote means something again, and neither should you be.
