Anonymous Joins #OCCUPYWALLSTREET

Anonymous has just released a video communique endorsing #OCCUPYWALLSTREET. Using language from our first Tactical Briefing, the video calls on protesters to adopt the nonviolent Tahrir-acampadas model. On the 17th of September, it says, "flood into lower Manhattan, set up tents, kitchens, peaceful barricades and occupy Wall Street for a few months … Once there, we shall incessantly repeat one simple demand in a plurality of voices."

Meanwhile S17 is surging ahead internationally. Simultaneous occupations of financial districts are now being planned in New York City, Madrid, Milan, London, Paris and San Francisco. With a bit of luck, this list of participating cities will expand.
If we can pull together just the right mix of nonviolence, tenacity and strategic smarts, S17 could be the beginning of the global revolution we've all been dreaming about for so long … wouldn't that be lovely.

This Occupation is a time for all concerned to come together as ONE. You are so right: “It's time for DEMOCRACY NOT CORPORATOCRACY, we're doomed without it.”
YES! Government OF the People, BY the People and FOR The People! This appears to be the start of a WORLD-WIDE cry of HOPE for the future…. In fact for ANY future that is worth living for. Maybe you could call your peaceful demonstration “People FOR People”. Only by coming together can we do it…. and show the whole world, that if enough like-minded people move and live peacefully as ONE to show their concern about something that must change, a whole new future is possible.
The problem for everyone right now is that there are no jobs because the money supply has dried up. The answer is The Kucinich Financial Bill, which can be downloaded or read at:

Since every country is now interconnected, and what affects one affects every other, any solution to the monetary system needs to be looked at on a global basis, and one monetary system used for the whole world. All people the world over must come together with a unity of purpose to solve the world’s financial crises. The solution is to print new money for the whole world, as needed, without any interest attached to it, and trash the present Federal Banks. Usury should be outlawed. This new system should be addressed humanely, so that everyone in need can share the excess wealth of others, and we can all have the necessities of life, liberty, justice and respect that the whole of humanity deserves, instead of being slaves to the moneylenders.
This is the answer for a future, not only for the US, but for the whole planet!

Tactic: Nonviolent gridlock!

A few dozen people can gridlock a city during the morning rush hour.
.
All they have to do is split up into smaller groups and take their time crossing the street at certain key intersections.
.
They can be substantially helped by a small handful of cars "stalling in traffic" for a couple of minutes at other key intersections.
.
First you need to do a fairly extensive study of the traffic patterns in the target area. Carefully note where the choke points are, and where other stalls and minor fender benders have caused major traffic jams.
.
Also useful to study the timing of all of the traffic lights and pedestrian walk signs in the area, to note exactly how long each one is in each phase (green, yellow, red, walk, don't walk).
.
When this is done correctly, it doesn't appear as if anything unusual is going on: just people dawdling as they cross the street, and someone pulled over looking at their tire or under their hood, or double parking briefly as they dash into a store to grab a quick snack.

And it can be devastatingly effective. All for nothing more than at worst a minor ticket for the small fraction who get caught, the costs of which can be shared by an entire affinity group or other organized group.

Be sure to send a communique after the deed has been done, ideally while the traffic is still at a standstill. Use disposable cellphones and text for that purpose, sending the text message to a local media outlet, ideally one that's sympathetic. In NYC that would be radio station WBAI. There are others elsewhere.
