Vow never to walk into a Starbucks ever again. Instead, search out the most interesting indie coffee shop around where you live and work … get to know the people who own and run the place and get your friends and co-workers to join you there. Individually this may feel like a drop in the bucket, but if all of us do it collectively, then we can begin to shift power from megacorporations to our friends and neighbors.

Fair traded coffee means that instead of someone in Africa or Mexico or Central America getting paid 65 cents a day, they get paid 90 or 95 cents a day.

I had once or twice Espresso/s there once I found they belong to a sinister co. (CRS or CSR dont recall exactly) and its the same as Burger King and many other and they give free food for those mercenaries guys (wont write their name here) hired by the u.s. to kill people (thousands of innocents) in Irak and elsewhere, I never step my foot on it (maybe to use the washroom) but my money (and other corp. related from u.s.) they not gonna have it! Choose the local small guy/gal and help Canadian business sheeple. They r disgusting liars (fair trade my a..).

mmm...ok so basically as i understand it fair trade is ripping off the countries who labor to make the coffee ....I do prefer to go into lil mom and pop shops before starbucks...when i was young starbucks was more of a diverse coffee shop that presented cool aquatinces but now the small local coffee shops just hit the spot for me.:)
