I guess I do. :X

I've kinda seen the action that's done under the guise of Anonymous to be more matured recently. Pinpointed DDoS attacks instead of flooding YouTube with porn or posting things that cause epilepsy in an epilepsy support forum.

I mean, the beauty of it all is that anyone can simply chose to be anonymous, but people choosing to involve themselves gotten better in my opinion.

To whom it may concern,

I would like to offer this letter as a formal communication of my resignation of my position as a member of mainstream western culture. It is with regret, yet firm conviction that I must tender this letter. In leaving, I offer my sincere thanks for the opportunity to have participated in this unique and remarkable movement; for the language art and for the music which has sustained my soul up to this point and to which I owe my current state of mind. This decision was not an easy one, but for reasons which are of grave personal importance, I will be leaving your company. The opportunities that have been offered to me here have been both challenging and rewarding, however I can no longer conscientiously participate in the current unspoken strategy for prosperity. I can no longer willfully pollute the air or the water for the sake of ease and convenience. I can no longer accept that I am an unimportant body acting as a part of a homogenous whole whose aim in thoughts and movement are restrained by the wealthy and devious. I will not give my mind over to the petty and meaningless distractions prescribed by network television. I cannot buy into the corrosive cynicism of the monstrous counter-culture of hopelessness, relativism, sensationalism, vulgarity, exploitation and ugliness that is offered as a popular escape. I will not suffer the moral impositions made on me by the archaic and imaginary powers of your religions. I will not indulge the hypocrisies of a moral leadership that, among countless other destructive contradictions, forbids violence but permits war. I will not unknowingly participate in the indiscriminate destruction of life so that I might arrive faster, eat more, think less, buy more, or remain safe, all while avoiding my real potential as a human being.

I can never do this. Thank you for taking time to read my letter.

Sincerely,

I recommend whatever society you start or join next be based on the five principles of true democracy:

Step 1) HUMAN DECENCY
At birth, every human being is equally deserving of respect and equally deserving of a society where she or he can live a good life.

Step 2) THE GOLDEN RULE / MORALITY
Good citizens and decent people live by the following principle of morality and freedom: do unto others as you would have them do unto you, or your children or mother or whoever you care most about in the world. The golden rule demonstrates that morality ("the way a person should act") is SOCIAL; it's about how you treat other people and the extent to which you consider how your actions will affect other people.

Step 3) DEMOCRACY
With golden rule-morality as the starting point, the ideal political form is what can be called "true democracy," which is to say that people govern themselves – any governing is by and for the people being governed in any particular situation. Wouldn't you want the opportunity to participate in any decision that affects you? The golden rule demands we extend that right to all. And that is true democracy.

Step 4) JUSTICE
Within the open-honest-thoughtful discussions that make up the political process of true democracy, good citizens and decent people will consider the good of everyone affected by the decision to be made, as called for by the golden rule. If people try to argue for a course of action based on selfish self-interest, good citizens and decent people will recognize and critique such positions as anti-democratic.

Step 5) FREEDOM
Live and let live; look kindly on people, both generally and specifically; feel free to find and create ways to be happy and enjoy life any way you can without hurting or infringing on others.

Fitter, happier, more productive,
comfortable,
not drinking too much,
regular exercise at the gym
(3 days a week),
getting on better with your associate employee contemporaries,
at ease,
eating well
(no more microwave dinners and saturated fats),
a patient better driver,
a safer car
(baby smiling in back seat),
sleeping well
(no bad dreams),
no paranoia,
careful to all animals
(never washing spiders down the plughole),
keep in contact with old friends
(enjoy a drink now and then),
will frequently check credit at (moral) bank (hole in the wall),
favors for favors,
fond but not in love,
charity standing orders,
on Sundays ring road supermarket
(no killing moths or putting boiling water on the ants),
car wash
(also on Sundays),
no longer afraid of the dark or midday shadows
nothing so ridiculously teenage and desperate,
nothing so childish - at a better pace,
slower and more calculated,
no chance of escape,
now self-employed,
concerned (but powerless),
an empowered and informed member of society
(pragmatism not idealism),
will not cry in public,
less chance of illness,
tires that grip in the wet
(shot of baby strapped in back seat),
a good memory,
still cries at a good film,
still kisses with saliva,
no longer empty and frantic like a cat tied to a stick,
that's driven into frozen winter shit
(the ability to laugh at weakness),
calm,
fitter,
healthier and more productive
a pig in a cage on antibiotics.

Does the esteemed publication realize these lyrics were conceived by the band Radiohead (Ok Computer album) and not anonymous? Just give credit where it's due please. This is not the work of one of your hip, 20 something culture jammers...
