This video has been circling the web the last few days a young girl is frenetically working an iPad supposedly for the first time. She never pauses on anything for more than a split second. What do you think? Does this frighten or excite you?
I think she's been simply familiar with the iPhone or a similar device, I have a 2.4 years old who browses internet ( Nick Jr- childrens site), plays her CDs, uses my Wacom tablet to draw etc. it is really super easy and doesn't require advanced thinking- it's just pressing buttons which children this age are so good at- everybody knows it. Besides they are born in the 21st century and are surrounded with technology, they watch us doing it all the time and simply learn. I could not believe when my daughter started to use the computer- she was simply watching me and suddenly before she even turned two she was playing simple games and performing simple operations. and if you let them play with it they will know sooner that you think. if they learn about 10 new words a day at this age so what's the big deal with the computers?? I know children who speak 4 languages at age of 3. This video might be unbelievable for someone who does not have children, but for us who raise them we know it's simply part of their life, so don't make big deal out of it- it is NORMAL.
and to other people who think our toddlers only spend time with computers- WRONG! they play with old fashioned toys too and spend a lot of time outside ( at least my daughter does ). she's getting bored with technology quickly- she loves drawing, painting, building blocks and reading books much more than she loves computers!
